The vulva refers to the external female genitalia. During the vulva consultation, we assess, treat, and support individuals experiencing discomfort in the external genital area. Occasionally, these symptoms may also extend to the groin region and/or the area around the anus.
Common vulvar issues that may lead patients to consult us include:
- Itching, burning, pain
- Infections, acute and/or chronic
- Skin irritations, redness
- Rashes, skin changes
- New growths, such as genital warts, precancerous lesions, skin tumors, moles
- Symptoms of hormonal deficiencies
- Chronic inflammatory conditions, such as lichen
During the initial consultation, we conduct a thorough medical history review. This is followed by a gynecological examination, which may include further diagnostic procedures such as swabs, tissue biopsies, sensitivity testing, and more.
In some cases, an additional dermatological assessment may also be necessary.
